the reason is plain and simple:
a life without magic is not worth living

we can certainly function without magic,
but we doom ourselves to a life of predictable, commonplace, flat worldly happenings

most of the people live in such a state, information overwhelmed, with a narrow attention span, emotionally anesthetized, cognitively blind, feeling bored to death

in one word, most of the people are disenchanted

we cure the disenchantment syndrome,
providing the electric spark that helps
re-establish an healthy flow of wonder,
reawakening to the beauty of magic and mystery

* (by the way, ever asked yourself why you do what you do?)
